Hakan Özger ("we," "our," or "us") built GarbageCollector: Disk Cleaner. In short: your files are scanned and cleaned on your Mac, and nothing you store on your Mac is sent to us or to anyone else.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect, store or share any personal information. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and we do not operate any server that receives data from it.

2. Your Files Stay on Your Mac

To find junk files, duplicates, similar photos, app leftovers and large folders, the app reads files in the folders you give it access to. All of this happens on your Mac:

• Cleaned files are moved to a recovery vault on your Mac, or to the Trash, so you can restore them.
• The activity log and your settings are stored only on your Mac.
• Similar photos are compared on device with Apple's Vision framework, and the optional "What is this?" explanations use Apple's on-device model when available.

3. Network Requests

The app connects to the internet only for these features:

• Update checks: to show available updates, the bundle identifiers of your installed apps (for example com.example.app) are sent to Apple's public App Store lookup service, and the public update feed a developer publishes for their own app may be downloaded. These requests contain no personal information and are not sent to us.
• Purchases: subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

4. Permissions

The app asks for access to your home folder, and to the Applications folder when you remove apps, so it can scan and clean files. Nothing is deleted without your confirmation or an automation you turned on yourself, and every removal can be undone from Recovery during the retention period.

5. Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
