Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Hakan Özger ("we," "our," or "us") built Protocol 4: Code Breaker PvP as a free-to-play, ad-supported game with optional in-app purchases. This policy explains exactly what the app stores, what leaves your device, and why. It covers version 3.0 and later.

1. No Sign-Up: Your Game Center Identity

There is no registration form, and we never ask for your email address, phone number or password. Protocol 4 identifies you through Apple's Game Center, using the player identifier Apple issues for this game. That identifier is scoped to us — it is not your Apple Account, and it does not tell us your real name or your email address. Because it comes from Apple rather than from the device, your credits, rank, badges and empire come back when you reinstall the game or play on another device.

2. Your Codename and Your Syndicate

The codename you choose is shown to other operators — on the global leaderboard, on the open duel board, in raid history, and to everyone in a syndicate you join — alongside your rank, badges and statistics. Syndicate names and descriptions are visible the same way. All of this is text you write yourself, so please do not put personal information into it: strangers can see it. Codenames are filtered automatically before they are accepted.

3. What We Store on Our Servers

So that duels, raids and syndicates can work across devices, the following is stored on our servers:

  • Your Game Center player identifier, codename, avatar, rank, XP, badges and game statistics.
  • Your empire: rigs, vault, overclocks, credit balance and the defenses you set.
  • Games you play: duels and standoffs, guesses, readings, results and timings, plus daily challenge and career contract progress.
  • Duel invitations, syndicate membership, territory claims and raid history, including which operators raided whom.
  • If you allow notifications, a push token so we can send you raid alerts and duel invitations, and the language the app is set to. Delivery is handled by Apple (APNs).
  • Reports and blocks you submit, including the reported operator's codename as it was at the time.
  • Which in-app purchases apply to your account — never the payment itself.

4. What We Never Collect

We do not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. There is no free-form chat in Protocol 4. Training games are played entirely on your device and are only reported once they end. We never see your real name, your email address or your Apple Account details — unless you write to us yourself.

5. Advertising

Protocol 4 shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier to deliver and measure them, and which collects usage and diagnostic data of its own. On first launch iOS asks whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites; declining still shows you ads — just less relevant ones. Any rewarded video you choose to watch works the same way. Crash and performance reports reach us through Apple in aggregate, without you attached to them.

6. In-App Purchases

Protocol 4 is free to play. The optional purchases — credit packs, the Agent License, vault upgrades and the rest — are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card, billing address or Apple Account details; we are told only which purchases apply to your account, so we can unlock what you bought and restore it later.

7. Blocking and Reporting

You can block another operator, which stops them being matched with you, and you can report a codename, a syndicate name or behaviour you think breaks the rules. A report reaches us with the reported operator's identifier and their codename as it stood at the time. We use reports only to moderate the game.

8. Game Center

Protocol 4 uses Apple's Game Center for leaderboards and achievements. What Game Center shows about you, and to whom, is governed by Apple's privacy policy and by your own Game Center settings on your device, not by us.

9. Deleting Your Data

You can delete everything from inside the app, without asking us:

  1. Open Protocol 4 and go to Settings.
  2. Find "Delete account" and tap it.
  3. Confirm. The deletion happens immediately.

What this deletes

The player identifier we hold for you, your codename and avatar; your credits, rank, XP, badges and statistics; your empire and its defenses; your duel and raid history; your syndicate membership and territory claims; and your push token. All of it is removed from our servers straight away, not queued for later.

What is kept

Reports you have filed about other operators are kept without you attached to them, because a report is about somebody else's conduct and deleting your account should not erase their record. Blocks you created are removed with the rest. Server request logs, which contain no account data, are discarded within 30 days. Purchases belong to your Apple Account and are not ours to delete — they will still apply if you play again. Game Center leaderboard entries and achievements are Apple's, and are managed from Settings › Game Center on your device.

Deleting the app from your device is not the same as deleting your data. Because your account is tied to Game Center rather than to the device, it is still there if you install Protocol 4 again. Use the in-app deletion above, or write to us at the address below and tell us your codename, and we will remove it.

10. Children

Protocol 4 is rated 4+, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. It shows advertising and lets operators write codenames that other people can see, so a parent should set it up if a child plays.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on this page, so it is worth checking back occasionally.
